Salt Spring in the CityWe will be at the 3rd annual Salt Spring in the City in Vancouver this March 4-6!
Once again it's at the beautiful Heritage Hall on Main Street. Come check it out! www.saltspringinthecity.com Make It! Vancouver & EdmontonWe are thrilled to once again be be part of Make It! Vancouver coming up the first weekend in December at the PNE Forum. December 3-6, 2015.
And for the first time, we will be travelling to Edmonton for the Make It! show there, the last weekend of November at the Expo Centre. November 26-29, 2015. Time to get busy now! #makeitvancouver #makeitedmonton ![]() In November we moved to the south end of the island, right in the middle of the winter craft show season and we are still trying to get everything unpacked and organised. Hopefully that won't take too much longer, ha! One big project that is coming up is building our own workshop and studio on the property. This will be happening over the next 6 months and in the meantime we will be setting up our show space in the main house. Chacha is the newest member of our family. She arrived a couple months ago now and has been growing up fast. The cats (all four of them) had to adjust to her presence and now tolerate Chacha if not play chase with her occasionally. We are still working on the toilet training aspect. Today was the first harvest of potatoes from the garden. We only have a small space but try and make the most of it. In the spring we fertilised the plot with the barn dregs (straw with sheep and goat droppings) which the potatoes absolutely loved! There are still more potatoes in the ground but we'll dig them up in batches. There are a few self seeded poppies opening now too. There is something so satisfying about watching your garden grow and harvesting the bounty and admiring the beauty. We are so excited! We have finally launched our new website (which has been on the to do list for a while). We will be bringing you news about our crafts and life in general as and when they occur. Spring Time![]() Here on the west coast it is already spring; the crocuses and daffodils are already coming into flower, the stinging nettle is sprouting and it's still raining. Outside the barn the ground is boggy especially after our recent 'pinapple express' which dumped an extra load of rain. Yesterday the sun came out and the horse, sheep and goats were all soaking it in on the hillside. We've had numerous projects on the back burner this winter but ended up hibernating for the most part and are just starting to get into gear now. We rarranged our office and studio spaces and have now got an official sewing room where we've got a lot of projects coming up. We've got some hand dyed hemp fabric that is waiting to be transformed plus we are working on bringing back our popular line of caps. We're also looking towards creating a line of men's shirts, women's skirts and various casual hand bags and totes. So stay tuned! |
